MNCPS Accredited Therapist in Darlington

Hi, my name is Richard.

My journey to becoming a therapist as always, starts with my journey of self-discovery, self understanding and belief that having space to talk without judgement is healing, as it has been for me... Volunteering for Darlington Mind really gave me the understanding and empathy that we are all human, and strong and vulnerable as each other. I qualified as a client centred counsellor in 2023 at Darlington College, and also qualified to level 5 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Working With Me

Counselling in Darlington and Online

I am an integrative Counsellor. I believe my role as a counsellor is to provide clients with a safe, non-judgemental space to speak and share about anything that is going on.

Life often happens in the small spaces and interactions, so no matter what you want to say, there is value in speaking about it and I will listen. As a foundation, my therapy is a listening service where together the client and I create a safe, therapeutic space for understanding and reflection.

As an integrative counsellor, I will bring in other theories and modalities, such as cognitive behavioural therapy, attachment work, shadow work, creative work, inner child, as a way of creating a unique and bespoke therapeutic experience for each client.
